Friday I’m in Love

28 Oct

Yeay for Friday!  And here at the Wall house we had a short week and a stay-cation Monday and Tuesday so it’s been a great week for us!

The midwestern fast food chain, Culvers. We have one out in Clermont and another opening up just around the corner from us in Winter Garden and I absolutely love their cheese curds!  For being fast food, its among the best and takes a close second behind Chick Fil A in our household!

Pumpkin patches with your kid! We took Raynor to a pumpkin patch a few weeks back and had a lot of fun taking pictures among the pumpkins. What is better than that?

I really love that we live so close to Disney. We took Raynor on Monday with us to Epcot’s Food and Wine festival and then to Magic Kingdom on Tuesday. We had a blast and I’d like to think Raynor had fun too!  His favorite ride was The Little Mermaid with all the bright colors and constantly moving seashells!

I’ve been dying to get Raynor in our hanging door swing and this week I decided he was big enough. He’s not QUITE big enough but since he can hold his head up strongly I decided that would do.  He hasn’t quite figured it out yet but he’s getting the hang of it! I find it hilarious that he prefers to have his hands inside the basket 😉

Have a great weekend friends!

Friday I’m in Love

8 Jul

Friday’s have become super busy for me over the past few weeks and it’s made these posts somewhat impossible to get to.  It doesn’t help that I have become SUPER lazy in the last few weeks of pregnancy so I have a lot less fun stuff to share!

First and foremost, I am so in love with spending time out on the water.  On Monday my dad took us  and a few friends out on the Butler chain of lakes to celebrate Independence Day.  We had so much fun, I didn’t want to leave!  We got to the park early enough on Monday morning that we had no trouble dropping the boat in and getting a parking spot for the trailer.  Getting out was a whole other story.  But everything in between was perfect.  Britton made breakfast burritos for us to eat once we were out on the water.  We brought Publix subs to snack on for lunch, and I way over prepared snacks for the rest of the day.  The water was wonderful and I think I spent over 2 hours just floating.  Perfect day!

Last weekend we finished our nursery which I should do a whole post on that so maybe next week 🙂 I love everything about his space!  Even though he won’t be there for a few months as we will be keeping him in a bassinet for a while, it feels good to have this done! Mint walls, grey and white furniture, navy accents?!  It’s perfect!

Monster Cookies… These are a thing in the Midwest for sure but I made almost 4 dozen over the weekend to bring out on the boat.  We’ve been snacking on them all week.  Have you ever had one?  They are the perfect mix of peanut butter, chocolate, and oatmeal that me and Britton find irresistible.  I used Paula Deen’s recipe and used dark chocolate m&m’s as that is my favorite way to eat chocolate.  Make some.  Don’t wait for something special.

Probably top on my list of loves is feeling our baby move around all day long. I wish I could get a video of it but he gets skittish whenever I pull out my phone to get it!  He’s still super active and it makes me really excited to meet him!  I tell him every day to not get too comfortable because we really can’t wait to see his sweet face!

On top of being 37+ weeks pregnant, we are renovating our master bathroom.  I say we, but we hired a contractor (thank goodness) and its been quite inconvenient. Once we’re all done I’ll be excited to share but right now I feel like we are living in chaos.  Hopefully next week I will be able to add a bathroom reno to my love list instead of my opposite of love list 🙂

Oh thank goodness it’s Friday.  This was a rough week for me as I caught Brittons cold from last week and spent a few days going through BOXES of tissues and trying to stick with natural medications and remedies to help me through the sickness.  Thankfully I am feeling better and I am so ready for the weekend to begin!

I hope all my friends know this about me.  I don’t judge you on the appearance of your home.  I don’t care if I walk in your door and there are toys on the floor and food on the table.  I love you all just the way you and your homes are and I know you do of me as well! Thank you for being true friends that I don’t have to tidy up my life to be around! This article REALLY spoke to me and my generation.  As I become a mom, I know my messy life will not remedy itself so thank you for loving me as I love you!

Blog post January 29

This has been a godsend for me this week and Britton last week.  I grew up in a mostly homeopathic home and I hope to bring that holistic lifestyle into my family as well.  When I felt like crap this week, I turned to Oscillococcinum.  I felt better in 48 hours 🙂 I bought the family pack on amazon for a great deal!

Today I was blessed with an invite from a dear friend to join she and her kids at Yellow Dog Eats in Gotha (right around the corner from Winter Garden).  I partook in a delicious BBQ sandwich, which I eat with a fork and knife because, i mean, come on, look at the piles.  I enjoy the Club Elvis but there are a lot of delicious items to enjoy so check them out asap!  I won’t steer you wrong!

Tonight I am super pumped to be joining my girls for a tutu making party.  We’re participating in the Flavor Run in a few weeks and obviously, we can’t walk a color run without festive attire.  I’m sure next week’s post will be full of rainbows 🙂

Good morning, friends and happy Friday!

#1

Ellen.  I just love her.  This week there has been a lot of talk about the new Starbucks cups, as I’m sure most of you have heard. I love how Ellen responded.

#2

Woof Gang Bakery.  If you have a dog, you should definitely check them out.  I take Foster there regularly because he needs FREQUENT hair cuts.  I think he needs a trim more frequently than I do!  They also have a huge selection of all natural treats and dog foods.

#3

Andrew McMahon.  Last weekend Britton and I had the great pleasure of seeing him with his latest band, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness.  I’ve been in love with him for the last 10+ years when he was the lead of Something Corporate.  He played most of his new album but gave his fans some opportunity to reminisce playing some of his best oldies.  This song is probably my all time favorite song ever.  We saw him at House of Blues at Disney Springs which is a really fun venue too!  We had a great night and enjoyed the opening acts as well!

This weekend I am super excited that me and Britton are heading up to Tallahassee for the Florida State University Homecoming game.  I realized when we booked the tickets that I have not been up there since my senior year of college which was, gulp, 8 years ago!  I know the campus has changed a lot and I can’t wait to get up there again!

I’ve already shared my greatest love for this week and that was for Taylor Swift at her show last weekend.  But obviously, some other awesome times have been had since then.

the Beach.  After the show on Saturday night we headed a little further west and spent some time at the beach.  It’s been incredibly hot in Florida this fall and we only made it out there for about 2 hours before we packed up and headed home. But I do love that we live close enough to the beach that we can do that even if it is just for a few hours!

publix

Publix.  I really can’t believe I haven’t mentioned this one yet.  I freaking love publix.  When I was in the midwest I dreamed about the aisles of publix and that familiar smell in all publix stores.  Sure, HyVee had a lot of good qualities and every once in a while I’m looking for something down here that I realize was a staple at HyVee.  But nothing compares to the freshly sliced cold cuts you can get while you wait for your sub to be made.  I’m even a fan of a lot of their publix brand items like their frozen broccoli, greenwise eggs and honey coated chicken tenders. Oh man, I love Publix!

Winter Garden Wine Walk.  It’s been on my calendar for probably 6 weeks now and I had so much fun!  A group of women from church and neighbors from my street all met up to enjoy downtown Winter Garden and try out some amazing wines.  I was delighted to see my neighbors getting to know my church ladies and it was a night we all really needed to relax and have some fun!  Thanks to everyone that made the night so special!

I had a pretty great week and I’m looking forward to a weekend in town without visitors for a change!  How was your week? What are you loving on this beautiful sunshining Friday?

Happy Friday friends!  This week I’ve been all by my lonesome while Britton was in Las Vegas for work.  But I’ve been trying to be productive anyway 🙂

IMG_3815Sleep. Yes that’s right, I’ve been trying to accomplish sleep 🙂  Over the past few weeks I have been on the struggle bus in that department.  And before I have kids I better freaking get some sleep!  This new blend in my diffuser has been a life saver!  I went from 4-5 restless hours a night to a solid 7 & 8 this week.  What a relief!  2 drops each of stress away, lavender and cedarwood and then rubbing stress away on the soles of my feet.  Thank you Essential Oils!  and Young Living!

Image (1)My awesome mom.  Today she is traveling to London to meet my sister who is there on business.  But the last three weeks she has been coming over to help me sew a new Christmas tree skirt.  Too early you say for Christmas?  Not when, for the past 3 years, I’ve realized in December I need a new tree skirt!  We’ve made this a monthly thing, to get together and work on crafty projects but this tree skirt thing has been one LARGE project. She has come over for a few hours the last three weeks to teach me sewing and help me with this apparent monster of a project.  Thanks momma for being awesome!

Apparently I gush over my husband in this blog!  On Tuesday we celebrated three years of wedded bliss!  While relationships are HARD, I’m glad I’m doing the hard stuff with my guy.  Happy three years and dozens more to come.  These Bouqs flowers arrived a little late (by no fault of his) but are beautiful nonetheless!  Since he has been out of town we are celebrating this weekend with the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot and a much needed weekend of just me and Britton time!

FALL TV!  I think its safe to say me and Britton are a little obsessed with good tv.  It’s the thing we do to relax on Sundays.  This year there are a TON of new shows that I’ve been trying out.  Blindspot and Minority Report are on my hit list!  What’s your Fall TV lineup?

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!  Be sure to check out my fellow bloggers on this awesome Friday!
